His paintings of airplanes, including the 23 canvases in this auction (lots 1 -23) are a remarkable testament to the Cleveland born, self-taught artist. His paintings capture the thrill of flying and his passion for the remarkable machines that were the subject of his art. His work is exhibited in The United States Air Force Museum. Enckler was also an award winning woodworker and the author of several US Patents for designs he envisioned.
